June 16 - Journey from Maryland to Cliff Dwellers Lodge/Marble Canyon

| We had an early flight out of Baltimore (BWI) and were in Las Vegas by 9:30AM. We met up with two of our party -- Jeff G. and his son Kevin -- and decided to have a cocktail while waiting for another member of the party Stan. Here Lynnette enjoys a Bloody Mary adorned by a large piece of bacon! |

Viva Las Vegas! The five of us hopped into our rental SUV, had lunch, then drove from Las Vegas to Marble Canyon, Arizona. It was a pretty drive through country decidedly different from what we are used to in Maryland.

| We arrived at the Cliff Dwellers Lodge, Restaurant and Trading Post in Marble Canyon where we would spend the night. Hatch River Expedition has a facility right next door. Our adventure would begin here tomorrow morning. |
